Bonnie Stowe moved to Kauai from Maui in May of 2005. While on Maui, she was in the long-term rental business for eight years. She got her real estate license ten days before moving to Kauai.

Shortly thereafter, she started hearing about shared ownership, and it excited her because it is a great alternative for people to own property on Kauai without all the expenses and headaches associated with full ownership.

Fractionals are not expensive for visitors who come to Kauai and fall in love with the island. Most fractionals cost $150,000 to $250,000. This type of real estate offers the possibility of owning a second home for two months; one month could be for personal use and the second for rental to vacationers. If used in this way, it may cover all of their expenses as well as put some money in their bank.

Owning property on Kauai is a dream for most people who visit this paradise island. With fractional ownership, it can become a reality.

Bonnie works with Bill Gillette, principal owner and broker of Kauai Tropical Properties. Bill has lived on the north shore for decades and is an excellent source of background information on most properties here. Their office is in Hanalei so is a convenient place to stop for a visit en route to or from the beach; however, you may not find them in the office unless you call ahead to tell them you’ll be there.
